The single-vehicle crash happened in the southbound lanes near Exit 28 for Route 297 for Zions View/Strinestown on Wednesday, Nov. 9 around 4:40 p.m., according to the York County Department of Emergency Services.
The man had been traveling east in the left lane when he suddenly crossed two lanes of traffic, left the roadway, and went up an embankment, hitting several trees branches, and debris before stopping, according to a release by York County Coroner Pamela Gay.
He died from accidental multiple blunt force trauma, according to Gay.
An autopsy will not be conducted but a routine toxicology test will be performed, Gay says.
The man's name will be released after his next of kin have been notified.
At least one lane was closed, causing traffic delays.
